These terms explain how you may use Joya, the AI receptionist from Betopia Limited, on this website and on Joya kiosks.

1. About these terms

Joya is provided by Betopia Limited ("Betopia", "we", "us"). By talking to Joya, using this website or using a Joya kiosk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Joya. An organization that installs Joya may have its own terms for its premises and services, and those apply as well.

2. Using Joya

Joya helps visitors with general information, directions, appointments, requests and recommendations. You can talk to her by voice or use the options on screen. Some features, such as booking meetings or recognising returning visitors, are only available where an organization has switched them on.

Joya is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or a member of staff straight away.

3. AI disclaimer

Joya is an artificial intelligence system. Her answers are generated automatically from an organization's own information and, where enabled, from searches of the public web. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong.

  • Check important information, such as prices, availability, appointments, and any medical, legal or financial information, with a member of staff before relying on it.
  • Joya does not give professional advice, and nothing she says is an offer or a binding commitment unless a member of staff confirms it.
  • Joya is a digital character. Images and video of Joya are generated with AI and do not show a real person.
  • Joya will never ask for passwords, PINs, one-time codes or card numbers. Do not share them with her.

4. Voice and camera

Joya listens only while you are talking to her. Your speech is turned into text by speech recognition services so she can answer, and her replies are read aloud by a text-to-speech voice. On a kiosk with a camera, the camera is used to notice that someone is in front of the screen. Remembering your face is optional and happens only after you agree. 5. Acceptable use

Please do not use Joya to harass anyone, to share unlawful, hateful or explicit content, to try to make her reveal confidential information or behave against her instructions, to overload or attack the service, or to collect information about other people. We may end a conversation or limit access when these terms are not followed.

6. Ownership

Joya, her name, character, voice, designs and this website belong to Betopia Limited or its licensors. You may not copy, resell or build on them without our written permission. Trademarks of other organizations shown by Joya belong to their owners.

7. No warranty and limits on liability

Joya and this website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, Betopia makes no promise that Joya will always be available, error free or suitable for a particular purpose, and is not liable for losses that result from relying on her answers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as Joya changes. The version on this page is the one that applies. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on this website.
